Differences between steam generators and steam boilers:
1. Steam production speed
Traditionalsteam generatormethods produce steam by heating an inner boiler; traditional boilers produce steam by heating water stored in an inner boiler. When water is heated to boiling, a certain amount of heat transfer time is required, ranging from a few minutes to 3-5 minutes for smaller water capacities to 1-2 hours for larger capacities.
New steam generators have a different structure from boilers. The instantaneous vaporization of water mist in the directly heated pipes causes the steam to continuously flow forward; there is almost no water in the pipes, and the steam generation takes about 3 seconds continuously.
2. Thermal efficiency
The thermal efficiency of coal-fired boilers is generally around 70%, or even lower. Due to environmental pollution, their use is strictly prohibited by the government and they are being phased out of the market. Gas-fired boilers have a thermal efficiency of about 85%. Biomass boilers have a comprehensive efficiency of around 80%; however, due to smoke and waste gas pollution, some regions have started to discontinue their use.
Steam generators achieve a thermal efficiency of 96%, thanks to the fast heat absorption rate of their twisted heat exchangers. They boast high fuel utilization and energy efficiency.
3. Safety
Traditional boilers boil water in a sealed vessel. If the pressure in the sealed vessel exceeds the critical value, an explosion can occur, presenting a significant explosion hazard. When a steam boiler explodes, the energy released per 100 kilograms of water is equivalent to that of 1 kilogram of TNT. Even exempt devices with water capacities less than 30L still possess considerable explosive power.
In steam generators, the water continuously vaporizes and is discharged from the pipes, meaning there is almost no water present in the pipes. The combustion of fuel also occurs in an open, atmospheric pressure state, eliminating the conditions for explosion in the structure. Therefore, this new type of steam generator is said to have no risk of explosion and is absolutely safe. Simultaneously, technological innovations have further enhanced traditional manual operation modes with intelligent control, water blockage prevention, power-off protection, and automatic protection programs, ensuring safety.
4. Installation requirements
Boilers present safety hazards, therefore requiring a boiler room designed by a professionally qualified design institute. The design of the fuel, gas, and boiler room must be approved by the relevant authorities.

5. Steam cleanliness
Traditional boilers, by their structural principle, incorporate a water storage mechanism, leading to the drawback of repeatedly boiling dirty stored water.
Steam generators are made entirely of stainless steel. Before entering the equipment, the water undergoes RO reverse osmosis; the water is directly vaporized, resulting in clean and sanitary water quality.
